Beautiful, hand knitting goods with a cause.
Located in Central Pennsylvania, Loopy is a nonprofit organization which creates knitted goods and donates 100% of the proceeds to donations that make the world a brighter place.
Loopy sources yarn primarily from the Central Pennsylvania region and focuses on small farm operations.
Yarn is also sourced from shops around the United States which are hand picked for their quality, feel, and vibrant color.
Loopy was my answer to the question:
Can I pay you to make something for me?
For many years, my answer was simply no.
A dear friend taught me how to knit when I was in college, nearly a decade ago now. I was introduced to knitting after a visit to a yarn shop. A new friend at the time asked if I would be willing to drive her to a nearby yarn shop and I agreed. All of the beautiful colors stacked to the ceiling in a tiny shop hidden away off a stone path in my hometown in Colorado…I was hooked.
And it was all about the stunning yarn for me. I loved turning incredible fibers into an item that can provide warmth and comfort for someone. For that reason, I have always knit almost exclusively with premier fibers. However, this means the yarn I purchase is costly and I couldn’t pass along that burden to others wanting to purchase something I made.
This nonprofit was my answer. I knit and provide you with a beautiful handmade good at a fraction of the price.
